Students are receiving their third quarter progress reports Friday. Students on the Kodiak Team are experiencing a third quarter slump. In some cases it is a severe slump. Please ask your child for the progress report so you can review their grade.
Yesterday classes had their Constitution test. I have graded two classes and hop to get more graded today and posted on the grade book program. Classes are beginning chapter 9 this week on Washington's presidency.

Classes begin chapter 5. Chapter 5 explains the strengthen views on democracy brought about by the Enlightenment philosophers. The French Indian War is also discussed in chapter 5. Classes will have an understanding how the French Indian War united the colonies and the expectations the colonist had from Britain after the War.

History classes covered material from chapter 12 section 1, Jacksonian Democracy. Students completed column note taking activity to summarize the main ideas of section 1. Tuesday students completed a guided reading on chapter 12 section 2. Section 2 explains the Indian Removal Act and the Trail of Tears. Wednesday classes walk outside as we discussed the event that was known as the Trail of Tears.
Classes today are reviewing material covered from chapter 12 section 1/2.
Friday students have a vocabulary quiz and Tuesday a quiz over section 1 and 2. Student should read section 1 and 2, along with studying notes and guided reading.

Good Morning,
Classes are finishing Chapter 9 today. We are completing Ch. 9 sec. 3 review guide. Students Friday completed ch. 9 sec 1/2 guided reading and turned in for 10 points credit. Classes Monday were given information concerning the Chapter 9 test scheduled for Wednesday Feb. 10, 2010. Students completed a constructed response question concerning Hamilton's financial plan. Students were told that a similar question would be on the chapter 9 test.

History classes this week are study the three branches of government. Article 1 the legislative Branch, Article 2 the Executive Branch, and Article 3 the Judicial Branch. The content includes qualification for and duties of the different branches of government. The information can be found starting on page 266 in students textbook. Also. class have a vocabulary quiz on Friday December 18. There were 14 word students wrote down and defined last Friday in class.

Classes have a test Thursday over Chapter 8 Section 1/2, along with their 11 vocabulary words.
Students were given the written questions for the test Friday. There are three short answer questions wort 4 points and one constructed response question worth 8 points.

Good Morning
Kodiak history classes this week are studing Chapter 8 Section 1/2. The content concerns the Articles of Confederation, Northwest Territory, Land Ordinance of 1785, and the Constitutional Convention. Students will take notes and develope a graphic organizer over the content covered in class. Students have 11 vocabulary words they need to be studting for the up coming test next week.
Monday November 30th: review vocab, develop grahic organizer about the Articles of Confederation.

Classes this week are reviewing for Thursday's test covering chapter 7. Friday students were given a review guide over chapter 7. It is 30 question that will be turned in before the test. The review guide is worth 30 points. Classes will check the questions today and tomorrow. Students were given additional information concerning the test yesterday.

History classes are studying the Revolutionary War. The material is found in Chapter 7 of students textbooks.
Classes last week viewed and discussed three primary source documents of life during the first three years of the war. This week classes are concentrating on chapter 7 sec 1,2,3.

Students are completing notes from a power point presentation. The notes cover the different Acts of Parliament. Students should read Chapter 6 Section 1and 2. Section 2 explains the reasons for the different protest and boycotts in the colonies along with the Boston Massacre.

Good Morning,
This week classes began chapter 6. Chapter 6 explains the different tax acts passed by parliament. Starting Thursday students will take notes from a power point on the different Acts passed by Britain. Student will receive their test back today. Grades are current on STI and students will get their grade cards Thursday. Students have been taking notes on the two different taxes that were considered constitutional at the time. Today will be review activities so students can process the information.

History Students are finishing Chapter 5. Section 3 is information concerning The french and Indian War. Classes will complete and check their guided reading from Friday.
Students have a test Thursday and Friday this week over chapter 5. Thursday's test is multiple choice worth 47 points and Friday's test is written and worth 22 points.
Grades will be up -to-date Tuesday.

Classes this week will continue to study chapter 4 pages 95-119. Chapter 4, explain's the development of the colonies. Students were given 14 vocabulary words Friday to define and will have a quiz on those words Friday September 4th. The quiz is worth 28 points.

Monday Aug.31; Illustrate a map of the different regions of the colonies. Review vocabulary.
Tuesday Sept. 1; Take notes on the Navigational Acts and Mercantilism.
Wednesday Sept. 2; Discus Bacon's Rebelion and Eliza Lucas Pickney's influence on the economy of the South.
